AED Cabinet Working Mechanism

Physical Protection + Fixed Placement

The cabinet serves as an enclosure for the AED host/backup device, protecting it from dust, theft, and misuse, while ensuring quick access in an emergency.

Status Sensing + Monitoring

The cabinet is equipped with sensors (such as door open/close switches, door opening detection, AED removal detection, and temperature, humidity, power, and communication status monitoring) that continuously collect status data.

Local + Remote Communication

The cabinet uploads collected status data to the AED Intelligent Management System via an internal communication module.

AED Intelligent Management System

The AED Intelligent Management System receives status data from multiple cabinets and displays dashboards, logs, device location maps, alarm notifications, and maintenance tasks.

Alarm Triggering Mechanism

When an anomaly is detected (such as a door open, AED removed, device disconnection, or extreme temperature), the cabinet immediately triggers an alarm through backend/communication channels. Managers receive immediate alerts and can take action.

Smart Playback/Content Push

The cabinet supports multimedia content playback (videos, images, music), which can be centrally distributed by the backend. This feature can be used for interactive promotions, reminders, or training content presentations.

Backup Power

The cabinet has a built-in battery, ensuring continued monitoring and alarm functionality for several years (up to 5 years of standby time) even in the event of an external power outage.

How to use the AED Cabinet

1. Site Selection and Installation

Select a suitable location (indoor/outdoor, unobstructed, easily visible, safe and reliable).

2. Fixed Installation (wall/ground anchor/cabinet base, etc.).

If the cabinet is equipped with a touchscreen/display/lightbox, consider the power supply circuit and waterproof design to ensure the communication module can receive network signals.

3. Equipment Placement

Place the AED main unit/spare device, AED accessories (electrodes/batteries/instructions), etc., in the cabinet according to the designated locations. Close the cabinet door and ensure the door lock or closing switch is in place.

4. System Initialization/Binding

Register and bind the cabinet and AED device in the AED intelligent management system. Verify that the status monitoring sensors (such as door opening and removal) are properly connected. Configure the alarm mechanism, alarm recipients, and notification link.

5. Daily Monitoring

The backend monitors the status of the AED cabinet and AED device (online/offline/abnormal) at all times and receives abnormal alerts (such as door opening and removal). / offline, etc.), regularly review logs, inspection records, and reports.

6. Functional Utilization

If instructions, promotional materials, or reminders are needed, videos, images, or audio can be sent through the backend, and the cabinet will start playing at a preset time.

7. Exception Handling

When an alarm is triggered (such as a door open, offline, or abnormal temperature), management personnel will receive a notification and quickly inspect the cabinet/AED for theft, malfunction, or misuse. If the device is faulty or removed, it must be promptly restored or replaced.

AED Cabinet Care and Maintenance Methods

1. Regular Appearance and Structural Inspection

Check the cabinet surface for damage, corrosion, or scratches.

Check hinges, door locks, and seals for looseness or deterioration.

Check glass or plexiglass windows for damage or blur.

2. Sensor and Monitoring Module Inspection

Check the door open/close switch for sensitivity.

Check removal detection and feedback for accuracy.

Check the readings of temperature, humidity, voltage, communication, and battery status sensors for reasonableness.

3. Battery Maintenance/Replacement

Although the cabinet is designed for a five-year standby life, regularly check the voltage and health of the internal battery.

If the battery capacity decreases significantly, replace it promptly. When replacing batteries, use original or identical batteries whenever possible.

4. Communication Module/Network Connection Maintenance

Ensure a strong signal on the communication module (Wi-Fi/4G/NB-IoT).

Check the SIM card and network module status. If there are any network anomalies, reboot and troubleshoot the network immediately.

5. Software/Firmware Upgrades

Regularly update the backend management system and cabinet firmware to fix vulnerabilities. Enhanced Functionality

Perform upgrades within safe time windows to avoid downtime at critical moments.

8. Daily Cleaning/Dust Prevention

Wipe the cabinet surface with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid using corrosive solvents.

Check the ventilation openings and heat dissipation vents for blockage and dust accumulation.

Keep the cabinet dry to avoid corrosion from high humidity and salt spray.

7. Inspection and Log Management

Establish a periodic inspection schedule (e.g., monthly, quarterly, or annual inspections).

Check backend logs and historical alarm records, monitoring for abnormal trends.

Perform timely preventive maintenance based on inspection results and log information.

8. Security/Theft Prevention Measures

Check the integrity of locks and alarm systems.

If the cabinet has anti-vandalism features or window alarms, verify their effectiveness.

Consider implementing security measures such as surveillance cameras in the installation environment.
